FameGraph is committed to publishing accurate, well-sourced, and up-to-date information about public figures. This page explains how our editorial team researches, verifies, and maintains the information on our platform.

Data Sources

We compile information from multiple authoritative sources for every profile:

  • Official sources: Press releases, official websites, verified social media accounts
  • Reputable media: Major news outlets (BBC, Reuters, AP), entertainment publications (Variety, Hollywood Reporter)
  • Public records: Court documents, government filings, SEC disclosures for financial data
  • Academic sources: Peer-reviewed research and institutional publications
  • Industry databases: Box office reports, chart positions, sports statistics

Net Worth Estimates

Net worth figures are always estimates unless explicitly stated as exact. We derive estimates from:

  • Known salaries and contracts (when publicly disclosed)
  • Box office earnings, streaming royalties, album sales
  • Public real estate transactions
  • Business ownership stakes (using market valuations)
  • Endorsement deal ranges reported by industry publications

All net worth figures are marked (est.) to indicate they are estimates. We update figures when credible new information becomes available.

Biographical Information

Biographical details (birth dates, birthplaces, education, relationships) are verified against at least two independent sources before publication. For birth dates, we prioritize:

  1. Official government documents (where publicly available)
  2. Direct statements from the subject or their representatives
  3. Contemporaneous news reports at the time of birth

Update & Review Process

Our content review cycle is tiered by profile importance:

  • Top 50,000 profiles: Reviewed every 1–6 hours for breaking news
  • Next 500,000 profiles: Full review every 24 hours
  • Remaining profiles: Reviewed weekly or on significant events

Every profile displays a "Last reviewed" date so readers can assess information freshness.

Editorial Independence

FameGraph's editorial team operates independently from our advertising and business development teams. Advertising relationships do not influence editorial coverage. We do not accept payment for profile creation or modification.

Corrections Policy

We take accuracy seriously. If you find an error, please use our corrections form. Verified corrections are applied within 24 hours and documented in the profile's version history. Significant corrections are noted inline with the corrected text.

Sensitive Information

We follow responsible reporting guidelines for sensitive information including:

  • Mental health disclosures — only published when the subject has spoken publicly
  • Cause of death — sourced from official statements or verified medical reporting
  • Legal matters — report established facts only, not allegations
  • Minor children — named only when publicly documented by the subject
